First of all I want to just say that I hope everyone is doing ok and hanging in there! It’s comforting to know we are all in this together- and the only way we are going to end this virus / make it spread less is to social distance.
Last Thursday, I texted Jake’s friend’s mom and asked if I could take Jake and her son to the park. She wrote back with a message saying that we are all crazy and that she had started quarantine- I thought she was CRAZY! My husband was in California at the time and arriving the next morning from a business trip. How could someone talk to me about quarantine when my husband still had to get on a plane cross-country. But then I started educating myself after our text message exchanges. My brother in law, who works for Amazon (they stopped all of travel weeks ago until end of April), sent me an email from a Doctor at Harvard saying we had to social distance. If you want me to email it to you – let me know.
So on Friday we started social distancing – it’s been one week with only visiting a grocery store twice. The first time I stocked up on tons of lentils, pasta and rice – whatever I could find. I started talking to a neighbor and realized I needed to get protein, so I stocked up on frozen salmon & meat and it’s in the freezer! Chase and I are doing a lot of delivery for dinner – in order to save our frozen food – but making fresh food for the kiddos.
One of the moms said that in Israel the schools are making this time “summer break” and in June school will start again. Genius idea! Wish our schools would do this.
I did a poll on one of my Insta stories and about 75% of you said to continue with outfits – so here we are. Apologies to the other 25%, but I also need to do it for my mental state, as this is my creative outlet.
I was supposed to wear this outfit last Monday to a Colombian designer’s event that was canceled. I was so excited to go – but little did I know this would be the start of everything being canceled.
Onto the outfit! I had been searching for a skirt like this for a long time. I love that you can dress this skirt up or down – with sneakers or with heels!
