Grownup Time + Tweed Jacket Look

Last Friday afternoon (the day after Thanksgiving), Chase and I decided to grab a late lunch and have some glasses of vino while the kids were napping and relaxing at home. While we were sitting at the bar we ran into three families we knew and the first thing they asked us is “where are your kiddos?” Of course I immediately become paranoid and think am I a bad parent for leaving my children at home.. Should I feel guilty for having alone time and catching up with my husband one on one? Isn’t it healthy to do this?!

I noticed a young couple walk into the restaurant with what looked like a newborn baby in the Maxi Cosi carseat and Bugaboo base. We have all been there shlepping the Bugaboo out of the car and hoping the baby doesn’t wake up when you transfer him/her. The couple looked super stressed so I smile and look at them thinking to myself we have been there! DId they know we have been there? How could they? We were at the bar having drinks and lunch kids-free. Meanwhile the mom rocked the baby in the stroller for the next hour.

Onto the outfit: I love when I put staples together and this is exactly what this look entails. This jacket I bought last year when I was scared of Zika and needed a nicer looking jacket but light at the same time. The black jeans are my favorite because not only are they high-wasted, they also have the ankle length + they have rips! The top is so beautiful with lace detailing.. The booties are old but good:)

A New Baby App YOU NEED!

At one point in my 2100 sq ft house with no play room, might I add, we had in one room the mushroom playmat, the tipee, the momaroo, the bumbo, a high chair, a bassinet and, last but not least, the jumping thing by skip n hop! I mean that’s 7 baby things for Chloe in the confines of one room! The clutter was out of control so I knew I had to start taking things away- there’s this amazing app called Criblis that lets you sell your baby items which is great! It’s almost like a Real Real where you can sell items and you can buy lightly-used ones from this app as well.  First you sign up and it asks you where you live + your kids’ ages, and then it matches you with other users who have kids in the same age ranges + location.  This app is great because it’s nice to be able to sell something you have and put the money towards a new purchase.

When using Criblis you can rent out or sell new or pre-loved premium products that your kids have outgrown.

— Crafty moms/dads can sell or rent out their unique/handmade creations to the perfect audience.
— Parents looking for a bargain can find beloved brands and products and get great deals.  For example, I have been needing the Beaba and they have it on the app for $8.00.
Criblis is a lifestyle-oriented, practical, socially conscious online platform that allows families to rent, sell and buy premium and unique kids’ products. Children’s products tend to have a very short life span – they are quickly outgrown. After the period of use the product becomes a waste sitting in the parent’s home occupying precious space and the budget that has been allocated for this is ‘locked up’ and the family is either unable to spend on something else it then needs or or is then constrained in their other needs because too much has been allocated for children’s products. Criblis believes that great products should be used and reused within reasonable wear by different families.
Since Chloe grew out of her bassinet so quickly and has now grown out of her Momaroo I would love to give a family close by these items so that they can use and enjoy as much as we have.
Download the app you won’t be dissapointed and visit the website at www.criblis.com.

Chloe’s 6 Month Update + Breastfeeding Journey + Family of Four

Hi Guys!

Sorry I have been so MIA with the blogging – our trip to Argentina was a lot since we only went for literally two nights/three days! We were supposed to go for longer but Chase couldn’t be away for that long because of work.  I was going to meet my parents, sister and brother in law in Buenos Aires without Chase but I  didn’t feel comfortable going without him.

Thankfully, the morning we were leaving for Argentina my sister had mentioned to me that I should ask the airline if they had an outlet to plug in my pump since it’s such a long flight (9+ hours). The airline didn’t have a plug so I went ahead and bought a manual Medela pump which saved me! (Apparently religious Jewish women use the manual pump on Saturdays since they can’t use electricity and because I live in a pretty religious neighborhood our local pharmacy had the pump).

When I got to the hotel in Rosario, Argentina I plugged in my pump and I blew out the fuse in our room + the chord! I was so frustrated because this meant that the entire trip I would have to manually pump which is sort of a nightmare when you’re used to using an electric pump. After doing this for two day,s I came home to Miami and decided I was going to be done breastfeeding.  I tried to do it cold turkey – but that didn’t work out so well! I ended up breastfeeding Chloe in the middle of the night for the next week and slowly started weening off.. To this day my boobs kill and are leaking but I’m trying not to let the milk out! Cold cabbage leaves have been super helpful.  When will this end?!

We started giving Chloe food starting with carrots which she really loved- i’m hoping that now that we have incorporated food + all formula she will start sleeping thru the night because she’s still waking up 2-3 times. It really doesn’t bother me waking up for her – she’s such a happy doll! Chloe could stare at Jake all day long  – it’s the cutest thing I have ever seen – and she just loves when there is noise! I started taking her to Zumbini and she loves it – she smiles the entire time! Her two bottom teeth are poking out and she’s starting to crawl, sort of… it’s more like a scootch! Of course, I love getting her dressed every morning! I usually put her in onesies or leggings and always something fun in her hair.  Shop some of my fav pieces here:

Everyone always asks if having two kids is crazy and it’s not! In the begining it was intense but every day that goes by and Chloe gets bigger it gets easier. Our family feels so full which is the greatest feeling on the planet. My favorite time with all of us is on Sundays when Chase and I take Jake and Chloe to an early dinner which is probably the same time you go to lunch ha!

Chloe now uses the Skip Hop jumper instead of the activity gym that I had on the floor because she was pulling it down and it was falling on her face. We had to add a bumper to her crib because she’s non stop moving and her head would hit the bars and her feet and hands would come out. Maybe it’s the difference between boys and girls but Jake never moved around that much in his crib.

Thanks to all of you for your love and support these past 6 months! I can’t wait to see what Chloe starts doing next.

Happy New Year!

Hi Guys!
Sorry I haven’t posted in a while now, Hurricane Irma really threw me for a loop! I was so thankful that we were able to go to Dallas and leave, but since we were glued to CNN the whole time all we did was eat and eat! We luckily didn’t have any damage to our home thankfully the power was out for only about 4 days.

I took Jakey to play at the Mondrian hotel last Friday in Miami Beach and we saw a dad with two little kids and he said that he was staying there because a tree had fallen over his house.. It’s just terrible, and now with more and more hurricanes coming I am just praying for everyone!

Last year at this time I was running away from Miami because of Zika and being newly pregnant so I am just happy that things are calm right now and we can enjoy spending the new year with Chase’s family.

Next week Chase and I will be taking our first trip since Chloe was born – I’m tagging along on his business trip! We’re dropping the kiddos off in Dallas and then heading to LA. I seriously can’t wait – I might end up sleeping the entire time! Just kidding I seriously can’t sleep when there is so much to explore. If you have any recommendations in LA please let me know…

I wanted to share some dresses I am loving right now that are more on the conservative side that you can wear to synagogue or church here:

Top 5 Must Haves for Chloe at 4 Months + Little Update

Hi!
I can’t believe tomorrow Chloe will be four months tomorrow! It was exactly one year ago today that I found out I was pregnant with our miracle baby. I really feel like I found out yesterday! It’s hard to believe she has already been to New York and Colorado in her four months of being here! She’s starting to seriously teethe and has had a cough – which I’m thinking is from teething. I am not one who reads books on when to start and stop doing things because I feel like when they are ready they will start. Chloe as of a couple of weeks ago started sleeping terribly because she was dying to get out of her swaddle, so I started to unswaddle her, it helps but oh I’m still waking up so much! I think she just wants the boob at this point.

Chase was on a business trip for a couple of days this week and I started to really reflect and think about how I was going to have to stop breastfeeding by Oct 15th because we are going to Argentina, and I decided that I wasn’t ready to stop quite yet. So I am going to continue because it feels right and Chloe is thriving. I also changed around her formula to be able to supplement before she goes to bed and whenever its needed.. She didn’t like the taste of Babies Only so with the help of my pediatrician we decided to go for the Holle, which she is starting to enjoy.

We can now say goodbye to the bassinet part of the stroller – she is ready to see the world! Miss Chloe is getting her ears pierced on Monday, can’t wait for people to stop confusing her as a boy haha!

At the moment these are the top 5 must have for Chloe:
1) Water wipes – Her pooping is getting more normal but she was pooping so so much and I am super thankful for these wipes because they prevented her from getting a diaper rash. LOVE THEM!
2) Zip-up sleep gowns because when I have to change her diaper at 5 am I don’t have to hassle with buttons.
3) Mushroom Play Mat– It’s so important to have Chloe on the floor kicking around and for me to join her I needed something to soft to lay down with her, so this Mushroom which I bought for Jake is fabulous – pricey, but worth every cent!
4) Bloom high chair – When we have dinner it’s great because Chloe can be part of our talks.. Also she’s more level with us and can see more of what’s going on. There is also this cheaper version which I picked out for my sister that’s super sleek and half the price.
5) Como Tomo – After Colorado I was having the hardest time with Chloe taking a bottle and I am so thankful to have friends to help me out on this one. I switched her to the Como Tomo and she LOVES it because it mimics a boob.. It’s a life saver really!

Traveling with Two Kids Under Three/ Top 10 Items I needed!

Hi!!!
After taking two trips this summer with Jake who is 2.5 yrs and Chloe who is 3.5 months I learned so much that I needed to share with you all!

When we went to the Hamptons I took the Yoyo stroller for Jake + the Ergobaby for Chloe- while I do love the carrier it was annoying having to carry Chloe everywhere. The carrier is great for shorter periods of time and perfect for when you need your hands. Thankfully for our Colorado trip my cousin let me borrow her Doona which is a carseat/stroller.  This is something that is worth investing in.

What we ended up taking to Colorado was the Doona which I would recommend to anyone! It serves as a stroller and carseat so you don’t have to bring one of each. We used the Doona in the airport and gate checked it.

The top 10 items I used the most:
1) Doona for Chloe
2) Ergobaby for hiking
3) Yoyo for Jake which I ended up using a couple of time for Chloe!
4) Nose Frida for both kids I also found this brand I love after misplacing three Nose Frida’s on our trip..
5) Sunhat for all of us baseball for me & I go for the round hats for the kids to cover their ears
5) Star leggings for me- you can wear them walking around Aspen to actually hiking
6) Sneakers to walk around in all day these are my favorite for myself and for Jake
7) Goyard bag– fits everything you need
8) Sweatsuits for Jake & Chloe
9) Denim jacket for myself because you can wear it with leggings to jeans- super versatile
10) Sunglasses

Hope this helps!
