Hi Guys!
Hope you all had a fabulous weekend! Jake came home from his almost two week vacation with my parents on Friday just in time for Father’s day. I have never been so excited to see anyone in my life! It was like he was away for months. It was so cute he gave me the biggest hug ever! I asked Chase what he wanted to do for Father’s day and all he wanted was to spend time with us and it would make him happy. I mean does it get any better? We ended up going to a last minute brunch with friends which was so fun, it never hurts to drink a little prosecco:)
Anyways onto this outfit- I am wearing this Iro ruffle skirt that I got on major sale that I was eyeing when I was preggers. There is something so fun about skirts because you can wear them so many different times just styled differently. I wore this skirt out to dinner and paired it with a white tee and flats. You can dress it up or dress it down depending on where you are going!
I wanted to link some of my favorite ruffle skirts here to give you options as it’s the perfect summer staple.
Hi Guys!
Hope you all had a fabulous week! I went to my 33 week check-up appointment yesterday and everything is good, BUT I gained 7 pounds in just 3 weeks! I think it didn’t help that we ate at the Palm the night before. I spoke to my doctor about the significant weight gain and he saw in my chart that I am at the exact weight now that I was with carrying Jake at the same time so he’s not concerned. I think so far I have gained around 26 pounds- with Jake I gained a total of 24 pounds but I also started this pregnancy a lot thinner.
I know it’s okay to gain weight when you’re preggers but it’s definitely hard to see the scale climb up at each appointment. I just keep on telling myself that I want a healthy, chubby baby! Her head is down so she’s in a perfect position! I ended up going to 41 weeks with Jake so we’ll see when this baby wants to make her debut. I go back in two weeks to check for Group B Strep and I need to remember to get the whooping cough shot. I can’t believe how close it’s getting! We are so excited…
Anyways I wanted to share my top stripe tops with you all for today’s post. To style a stripe top either pair it with a more casual heel/sandal or sneakers.
Stripe tops are so cute and, contrary to what people believe, they can be super-flattering even though people may think it makes you look larger. I don’t think it actually does. You just need to find the right type of top. I wanted to share different styles that I’m loving at the moment! What’s nice about a stripe top is that it gives your outfit that nautical feel but you can dress up or down. For the maternity options I’m sharing a more boxy top, long tank perfect for layering, sporty 3/4 top and an off-the-shoulder and for non-maternity I’m sharing a long sleeve casual tee, button down that ties around the waist, off-the-shoulder, back-button top and stripe ruffles.
Maternity Fav Stripe Tops:
With Fall right around the corner I wanted to share my top 5 denim jackets that are the perfect layering piece. You can take your favorite summer dresses/rompers and just add a denim jacket. Denim jackets have been around since I can remember- it’s just important to pick out a style that is flattering.. I know the boyfriend loose cut is super in- but it’s really hard to pull it off. I prefer the more fitted tapered jacket.
The 3.1 Phillip Lim Ora Leather Over-The-Knee Boot is amazing! It is available in both black and peanut and you can’t go wrong with either color.
When wearing an over the knee boot be sure to wear it with either a fitted pant (skinny jeans), short, skirt, or dress. The focus should be on the boot so be sure when you are getting dressed that the emphasis is solely on the boot.
Styling Options:
Wear the boot with the following:
1) Skinny jeans, t-shit, blazer
2) Shift dress
3) Leather mini skirt with tucked in t-shirt & tights
4) Jean shorts, silk button down tucked- in and leather jacket

3 months after the birth of North West- Kim Kardashian steps out in this black cut-out dress… My thoughts- WAY too many cut-outs and cleavage for her body type!
Rose Bryne in Calvin Klein Collection- She is using the cut out trend for fall which is huge and she used it in such a feminine subtle way- not revealing too much. Love the blush color as well and the fitted dress. I think instead of earrings, she could have used a diamond necklace that drapes onto the neckline of the dress.
Heidi Klum in Atelier Versace oxblood beaded sequin neck gown & Lorraine Schwartz jewels- she looks stunning! The color, the dress, the minimal jewelry is perfect with the lavish dress. The neckline is a little much- but Heidi can pull it off. I think the dress would have looked stunning as a one shoulder or strapless.
Elisabeth Moss in Andrew Gn- I am loving the white and black combo with her red lipstick. I like the two different fabrics on the dress & the fit is perfect for her body type. She looks beautiful! Her Rauwolf clutch goes perfect because it has color & really pops. Also loving her hair & color- very stylish.
