Potty Training Miss Chloe

Happy second birthday to Chloe tomorrow!! She’s been very interested in peeing on the toilet for months so we thought it was the right time that we potty train her. Since we were going to be spending spring break in Miami (last week) it was the perfect opportunity. We potty trained Jake when we brought Chloe home from the hospital because we knew we would be home for days. It’s important when you are potty training to be home for a couple of days so that if they have accidents (and THEY WILL) it’s easy and you are home. Accidents are the way they understand what is going on!

A prime example on how it’s easier being home: I was driving the kids to school this week and we were two blocks away from school when Chloe starts saying “pee pee!” I asked if she could hold it but we know it’s a whole thing- you have to wait in the carpool line etc, so I decided it was best to pull off on a side street and let Chloe pee on the grass or maybe sidewalk:). Of course then Jake starts saying he has to pee, too! The next day Chloe went on with the same business that she had to pee two blocks away from school – I made her hold it in!

I guess my advice is as follows: Always have at least two changes of clothes when you are out and about and, when you first start the training , always remind them to pee.. This is especially true if they are playing and having fun – they don’t want to take the time out to go to the bathroom.

Remember if you have a boy to make him pee standing up – it’s so much easier for boys. It’s been interesting for me going out to public restrooms with Chloe! I feel so spoiled to have had Jake first!

Going to Target and buying packs and packs of underwear is a must! Get the ones with characters because it makes it more fun for the kiddos. Also- do not send your child with a pull-up to school. It’s better in underwear because I find the teachers will pay more attention, just be sure to send extra clothes for accidents.

Hope this is helpful!

The one “lingerie” Item I Can’t Live Without!

Hi!

Happy Humpday:) Every time you see me wearing something tight I can assure you 99% of the time i’m wearing the Commando control top thong. NOT the brief, it’s the thong. I highly recommend it- especially if your problem area is your tummy like mine! You will not regret this purchase and i’m sorry if you become hooked and end up wearing it with jeans as well (just make sure they are the high rise jeans).

Even if i’m wearing something tight and I drink sparkling water my stomach feels extended, and I swear I do crunches! So this control top underwear really does help. It’s the perfect material and doesn’t show under anything. Sorry men- it’s not that sexy- but it works and makes everything smoother.

Leopard Love

Happy Tuesday!

When it comes to leopard print I have always been a fan! I don’t know why but I think I just like that it encompasses a pattern while still having muted and neutral colors. I bought the Golden Goose leopard shoes a long time ago and I wear it so much! While in London I ended up getting another pair of leopardish shoes and have been wearing non-stop. Do you like to wear leopard? If so, do you prefer wearing the pattern as a clutch, shoes, dress, or top?
I wanted to share some leopard that I’m loving currently:

Easy Breezy Daytime Summer Dresses

Hi Guys!
Sorry I have been a little M.I.A., I have just been trying to adjust my life with two kiddos! Still kind of a zombie waking up around three times per night to breastfeed Chloe + Jake waking up as well but that’s another conversation (ahhh). I will say that it’s been 8 weeks and it’s getting so much easier to manage them both in the mornings. Chase leaves super early to workout/work and I’m at home with Jake and Chloe until it’s time to take Jake to camp. What’s nice is that Jake and I have an hour to ourselves in the morning while Chloe sleeps. Chloe is now 8 weeks old and I would say Jake is really starting to interact with her and it’s the cutest thing on the planet. Yesterday he wanted to wake her up so that he could hold her. Once she woke up I put her in his lap and after 2 seconds he was DONE. HA!

This weekend we are going to take Jakey to the pool and possibly take Chloe as well! We went to the beach last weekend and it was so hot outside that we basically burned our feet off – so for now we will hold off unless we go super early. It’s important to go outside and get fresh air. Last weekend I was a little on the depressed side I just felt like I hadn’t left my neighborhood in weeks and the beach cured me. We are starting to plan a trip to Argentina because my first cousin is getting married! We are so excited and gives us something to look forward to.

We’re going on a date night with another couple on Saturday night!

Onto easy breezy dresses, you can never have too many! From wearing them during the day to just throwing them on + while not having to think about what to wear it’s such an easy thing. This grey dress I love and I wear it when I have to run errands while I’m not with Chloe since you can’t really wear a dress while breastfeeding. I wanted to share my top 10 easy dresses here:

Have a fab weekend!

Ruffle Mini Look

Top: Iro / Skirt: Iro / Denim Jacket: Seven / Shoes: Aquazzura / Bag: Chanel / Sunglasses: Ray Ban

Hi Guys!
Hope you all had a fabulous weekend! Jake came home from his almost two week vacation with my parents on Friday just in time for Father’s day. I have never been so excited to see anyone in my life! It was like he was away for months. It was so cute he gave me the biggest hug ever! I asked Chase what he wanted to do for Father’s day and all he wanted was to spend time with us and it would make him happy. I mean does it get any better? We ended up going to a last minute brunch with friends which was so fun, it never hurts to drink a little prosecco:)

Anyways onto this outfit- I am wearing this Iro ruffle skirt that I got on major sale that I was eyeing when I was preggers. There is something so fun about skirts because you can wear them so many different times just styled differently. I wore this skirt out to dinner and paired it with a white tee and flats. You can dress it up or dress it down depending on where you are going!

I wanted to link some of my favorite ruffle skirts here to give you options as it’s the perfect summer staple.

33 Week Update + Top 10 Stripe Tops Including Maternity & Non-Maternity

Hi Guys!
Hope you all had a fabulous week! I went to my 33 week check-up appointment yesterday and everything is good, BUT I gained 7 pounds in just 3 weeks! I think it didn’t help that we ate at the Palm the night before. I spoke to my doctor about the significant weight gain and he saw in my chart that I am at the exact weight now that I was with carrying Jake at the same time so he’s not concerned. I think so far I have gained around 26 pounds- with Jake I gained a total of 24 pounds but I also started this pregnancy a lot thinner.

I know it’s okay to gain weight when you’re preggers but it’s definitely hard to see the scale climb up at each appointment. I just keep on telling myself that I want a healthy, chubby baby! Her head is down so she’s in a perfect position! I ended up going to 41 weeks with Jake so we’ll see when this baby wants to make her debut. I go back in two weeks to check for Group B Strep and I need to remember to get the whooping cough shot. I can’t believe how close it’s getting! We are so excited…

Anyways I wanted to share my top stripe tops with you all for today’s post. To style a stripe top either pair it with a more casual heel/sandal or sneakers.

Stripe tops are so cute and, contrary to what people believe, they can be super-flattering even though people may think it makes you look larger. I don’t think it actually does. You just need to find the right type of top. I wanted to share different styles that I’m loving at the moment! What’s nice about a stripe top is that it gives your outfit that nautical feel but you can dress up or down. For the maternity options I’m sharing a more boxy top, long tank perfect for layering, sporty 3/4 top and an off-the-shoulder and for non-maternity I’m sharing a long sleeve casual tee, button down that ties around the waist, off-the-shoulder, back-button top and stripe ruffles.
