Yesterday in stories I posted that I was wearing my Chanel sling backs. One of the many questions I got after I posted: are the Chanel sling back shoes more comfortable than the ballerina flats? OMG there is no freaking comparison- the sling backs are way more comfortable! I don’t know what it is about the Chanel ballet flats but they kill my feet! I’m wondering if I should sell the denim pair but I keep thinking I will hopefully break them in one day (I have had them for one year)! I guess this year we haven’t had much of a chance to wear anything… I wear the same size in both styles- 38.
My right foot in the sling backs kept slipping off, so I took them to the shoe repair and they shortened the strap in the back. I said to the guy at the shop- please be careful, they are Chanel and he responds I don’t care what brand the are! LOL- DUH he’s so right! For those of you who live in Miami Beach, I use Art of Sole shoe repair, and I highly recommend. Last March we went to an outdoor wedding. I was wearing my Manolo Blahnik lucite heels and destroyed them. They totally fixed them!
Anyways if you are going back and forth between sling back and ballet, go with the sling back! I also have the heel version and they are pretty comfortable for a heel!

Hi Guys! Happy Friday! It’s not often we get to wear leather in Miami but when we do I grab my leather pants and happily put them on! There is something so cool and chic about leather pants. It’s also a great way to keep you warm! I imagine myself one day walking the streets in Paris with my over-sized coat, sweater, Golden Goose sneakers, and my leather pants eating a croissant in one hand and a coffee in the other.
In Miami the way to style leather pants is with a tank top and sandals or sneakers, which is just as cute too:) I have mentioned this so many times but I got my leather pants a couple of years ago and I still love them! I sized down in them because they tend to stretch out. See below some favs!
I wanted to chat about the Deauville Chanel tote vs the Goyard tote because I get asked questions about them all the time! I own the Deauville in blue and in beige but rarely wear the beige. Maybe when my kids are older I’ll start wearing the beige one. I keep on wondering if I should sell, but I don’t want to regret selling!
What I love so much about the Chanel Deauville bag is that it makes any outfit look automatically chic and so versatile. You can pair it with a workout outfit, jeans + tee and you look chic! The bag also looks great with dresses! It’s the perfect size to hold kid snacks, waters, and extra changes of clothes. I love that it has a shoulder strap so that when you have to carry things or a child you can wear on your shoulder. The wrist handle is my favorite way to wear this bag! The compartments inside are really helpful – you can keep your keys + wallet. It looks cute with every single outfit! The wear of my blue bag isn’t great – but I wouldn’t sell it anyways. It’s also structured so it’s not hard to find things.
The Goyard GM I own in blue and in grey. I find myself wearing the blue one more – maybe because it’s a better color for Miami. This bag is so easy to use, it is such a good throw around bag and fits everything! The size is perfect and super super light when it’s empty. I originally bought the grey one in Paris when I was pregnant with Chloe. I was going to use it as a diaper bag and, of course, every day use once Chloe grew out of diapers! It’s really the perfect diaper bag – and one that you can wear forever. The fabric can totally get wet without any problem. It’s a little difficult to find things because the bag has no structure! The bag comes with a pouch which I should always keep my keys in! The wear isn’t great, I will say. The straps on mine are a little cracked 🙁 But all in all I love this bag – it’s a no brainer and I love that I never have to worry about where it’s placed.
So- while the Goyard is technically a better every day bag, because it’s so light, I love the way the Chanel tote makes me feel: put-together and chic! If I had to choose between one bag I would say go for the Deauville in a darker color for everyday!
Just to throw you a curve ball: if you’re looking for something that doesn’t get that beat up, look at the Louis Vuitton Never Full! Maybe it will make a comeback – who knows!
These matching set outfits are perfect for taking your kiddos to the park to going out for a glass of wine! I have them divided by neutrals and colorful sets. Hope you enjoy the edit!
It’s been a while since I have posted on the blog and I just wanted to take a moment here and let you all know how thankful I am for you! I am thankful that you care to read my posts sharing about fashion finds & family.
The last couple of weeks have been SUPER busy. So much so it felt like we were in normal times. BUT the whole not traveling for Thanksgiving, not being able to have a big Thanksgiving dinner – it’s not a normal thanksgiving.
We are going to Palm Beach for Thanksgiving. We had nothing planned in Miami and so thought it would be best to get away. We had a trip planned to go to Madison to visit my family but unfortunately we had to cancel it. I’m so upset that we can’t go but so many of us are in the same position. A friend who had to cancel her trip to New Jersey asked me what I had told my kids when we cancelled our Wisconsin trip. I told them the truth – I think it’s best just to tell the truth. Jake asks every day when he will get to see his cousins and I say hopefully soon. Right now we should be thankful for FaceTime!
I am thankful for my family, you guys, my health and, this one is new this year, my children’s school and teachers. School is something that we always took for granted and this year teaches us how easily even that can be taken away. Praying our school doesn’t close – I am not meant to be a teacher! What are you thankful for?
