All About Lace and it’s Versatility

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far!

I have always loved lace, even my wedding dress was made out of lace. There is something so beautiful and elegant about it. But it’s important to make sure that any lace you purchase is from good quality otherwise it can look cheap.

This top pictured from Frame is one of my favorites — I had also bought it for two different clients. One of my clients needed an outfit for a baby shower so we paired it with black skinny jeans and Chloe scalloped flats. My other client needed an outfit for a concert -we paired that lace top with boyfriend distressed jeans and converse.

In the photographs I paired the top with faux leather shorts and Valentino rockstuds.. What I love about this top is that it is so versatile. I also wore it to the Fashion for Breakfast event with Rag and Bone boyfriend shorts and Valentino sandals. I always love buying pieces that are super easy to style and are very versatile. This top will continue to be in the rotation.

Bungalow33-MichelleApplebaum-IMG_0501

You would have to be living under a rock not to notice that, in the last couple of years, food trucks have taken over the foodie scene across the country. Last week at the Style Saves event for the Soiree I met Michelle Applebaum who is the owner of Bungalow 33 – a mobile retail truck that sells clothing, shoes, and accessories and carries labels from Donna Mizani, Style Stalker, RD Style, Madison Square. Bungalow 33’s product prices range from $19-$180. Do you love shopping with friends? What would be better than having a store come to you for a party? This mobile truck can we used for private parties such as bachelorettes, birthdays, and girls’ nights.

The aesthetic of the truck is industrial meets glam and it’s of course air conditioned - with crystal lighting and wood floors. Although each area of the truck is utilized for product it doesn’t look or feel cluttered. The dimensions of the truck are 18’ x 7’. Bungalow is collaborating with Vegabond Hotel for “Style Rendition Weekends” pop-up shop series and dates/times can be viewed on their social media. Follow Bungalow 33 for upcoming events on Instagram @Bungalow33boutique.

7.22- Summer Essentials

gladiator

7.20 Outfit Details

Jean: Pictured I am wearing my favorite white denim jeans with rips that I have had since before Jake was born. The fit of this jean is great because it has the perfect amount of stretch. They are super cute rolled up a little bit on the bottom to give it that ankle crop look. These jeans are super versatile and can we worn with espadrilles which are pictured, gladiator sandals or a pair of heels.

Top: My top is Equipment and it’s the perfect white button down. Finding the perfect crisp white shirt is really hard- and it took me years to find the right one. This top is fab because the fit is just perfect. It’s long/ but not too long and it’s perfectly tailored. I would say it’s on the expensive side- but it’s something that when you find the right one you just need one.

Shoe: For a pop of color I am wearing a pair of colorful espadrilles that I bought last summer from the Barney’s Warehouse sale. Unfortunately, the exact espadrille isn’t available to purchase but I have linked similar espadrilles with really great patterns.

Mara Hoffman/ Fashion For Breakfast

Speaking

Such a fabulous morning – meeting Mara Hoffman..  She is pictured above with Megan Reynolds who is the senior shopping editor at Harper’s Bazaar.  Mara Hoffman was just radiant and gorgeous.  Not only was she a fabulous speaker- but you could also just tell how close her bond is with her son- who sat on her lap for part of the conversation.

She spoke about her passions, inspiration, and role models.  Some of her role models are her yoga teachers, family members, and her son’s teachers.  One thing she said that really resonates with me is that there is inspiration everywhere, you just have to choose to let it in.  It’s important to make sure you surround yourself with good people.  Her favorite places to visit are India, Guatemala, & Morocco.

Mara has a children’s line and, while she loves it so much, it’s the hardest part of her business.  She is determined to make it work and has things to learn.  Some of the challenges include using less fabric so that the finished product isn’t as crazy expensive.  Her kid’s line can be found on her website at www.marahoffman.com.

JPB

As you can see above i’m viewing her athleisure collection and the prints are just fab! The sport bras are for such a must have, because worn under a tank it will look on point.  The one standout piece was a printer jumper- which I’m sure all of the fashionistas will be wearing:)

I own a one piece swimsuit with cut-outs that I purchased in the Hamptons last summer when I was around 20 weeks pregnant.  I absolutely love it, because the cut-outs are in just the right places:)  My husband doesn’t love one pieces but loves this one because of the cut-outs which give it a sexy look.  I also own a two piece black high waisted that I bought for my birthday in February of 2014.  Both swimsuits are on the rotation because of the fit, pattern, and are both comfortable!
