While packing for the Berkshires I thought it would be great to write about key items to pack for a vacation, especially because labor day weekend is approaching. In a nutshell, I’m all about packing items that are versatile and don’t wrinkle. The goal is always to pack light.
On this trip I packed lightly because I share a suitcase with Jake. I have learned that over-packing is terrible because not only does it give me more work when I unpack upon my return home, but it also confuses me when I’m on the trip so less is better in this case.
Key Items to Pack-
1) Accessories- One pair of sunglasses, a necklace, fun rings, and an everyday bag. 2) Shoes- Leaving the heels at home since we will be in the mountains. Packing my tennis shoes for hikes, walking in the town and bbqing at night. I will also have my Valentino rockstud sandals and my Aquazzura espadrilles. Can’t forget my Birkenstocks since we will be up in the mountains. When packing your shoes they should be kept in shoe bags so that the rest of your clothes doesn’t get dirty.
3) Swimsuit- A bikini from La Perla I snagged on sale for 60% off
4) Hat- Taking along my Stella Mccartney X Addidas along with my Hat Attack hat to wear in the town during the day
5) Scarf- Alexander Wang – it’s light and the color goes with everything..

If you are in the fashion industry or love fashion- then you know that Chanel is everything! There is something so special about the way it’s made that it never looses it’s shape. I am not really brand-conscious, but when it comes to bags and shoes I think it’s important to have items that are of good quality.
Quantity- For example, instead of buying ten different bags of lesser quality, why not get just one bag that is high-quality? My take on this is that it’s better to have one good bag versus a variety of cheaper low quality bags. Another added benefit of streamlining the inventory of bags is the elimination of clutter.
Quality- This Chanel bag I bought about 5 years ago, and it looks like I bought it yesterday. I take very good care of it, and have always kept it stored in its original box- until recently when I got a Glam Divide, and am now able to store it in the storage box.. I just make sure to take good care of it- as it’s a bag I will have forever.
Versatility- The reason I think Chanel bags are so great is because you can wear them for so many different occasions. You can wear it casually- with jeans and a t-shirt and sandals or you can wear it to a wedding. The versatility makes the bag unique coupled with the fact that it will never go out of style.

Three pairs of different denim shorts styled:
My obsession with denim shorts is a little crazy- I don’t know if it’s because I live in Miami and I can wear them all year round, or if I am just most comfortable in shorts. It’s the perfect compliment to a fabulous top and shoes.
I find myself wearing denim shorts during the day to meet clients, to meetings, and to date nights.. They are incredibly easy to style and depending on your mood you can wear them with heels or flats.. I probably have five pairs that are in rotation which are from Frame Denim, Top Shop, Current Elliott and Rag and Bone.. See below how I style them!
Pictured I paired the short with a feminine daisy print Topshop cropped top from Nordstrom. You can’t see any skin because the shorts are high waisted. My sandals are the Valentino rockstuds which I got on sale from Barney’s in the beginning of the summer. In this look I’m wearing Rag & Bone Boyfriend shorts with a button down Equipment top, Valentino ballerina flats and a Gucci Disco bag. This bag can be worn cross body or over one shoulder. See below to shop the look.
In the fall if it’s cold enough in Miami I’ll pair my shorts with booties. For those of you who live in colder climates don’t be afraid to pair them with tights and booties. You can really wear them all year round no matter where you live!

While I was chatting with one of my best friends who lives in NYC she asked me if I thought she could pull off wearing a crop top- She is 30, single and actively dating.. It’s funny she mentioned this because I had just saved a picture of Aimee Song from Song of Style wearing an off the shoulder crop top that I was totally loving.
Shortly after our phone call, my friend sent me a picture of herself wearing a crop top to see if I approved, and I absolutely loved it.. She had paired the crop top with high wasted trousers. What I loved most was that she wasn’t showing too much skin so it still left a little to the imagination.
Different bloggers are styling crop tops as follows:
1) Song of Style Pairs her off the shoulder crop top with high waisted denim shorts
2) Something Navy pairs her crop top with a high waisted skirt and belt
3) The Blonde Salad pairs her crop top with a high waisted denim skirt
4) Valentina Ferragni pairs her crop top with a high waisted maxi skirt
All of these bloggers are pairing crop tops with HIGH WAISTED — which is the key word.
How to wear a crop top:
1) As you can see the way to pair the crop top is with a HIGH WAISTED short, wide legged trouser, pencil skirt or full skirt
2) Wear it with confidence
3) It can be worn with both heels and flats
4) If you are showing your belly button your bottom isn’t high waisted enough:)

The off the shoulder look is everywhere and I can totally understand why- It’s one of my all time favorite looks…. It’s bohemian and looks effortless.
On Saturday night my husband and I were on a date night and the table next to us there was an older couple who were on a date as well – and it seemed like a first date. The lady, who was in her 50s, was wearing an off the shoulder dress with a pair of heels and looked just fabulous and not like she was trying too hard. The off the shoulder trend is super versatile and is equally in style across all age groups. Also, you don’t have to be super thin to wear this look as all you are showing off are your shoulders..
It’s also a versatile look in that it can be worn with a pair of heels, wedges, and flat sandals or flat ballerinas. An off the shoulder top can also be worn with jeans, shorts, or skirts. The versatility is great depending on your mood and where you are going!
There is such sex appeal to the look- it doesn’t show too much and leaves some to the imagination.. The amount of skin that is shown is just perfect!

Hair- With this trend it looks great to wear your hair up in a high bun or down with beachy waves parted in the middle to emphasize the boho look.

What’s better then finding a dress from H&M? NOTHING! The price is just right and I always seem to wear easy and breezy dresses the most during summer. Because Miami summers are scorching I rarely wear pants…
There is something so convenient about putting on a dress and always looking effortless, breezy, elegant and dressy for any occasion. This dress is a little on the preppy side for me, but since I paired it with gladiators and a tassel necklace I think it looks more like my style… In my opinion Gladiator sandals give an edgier look to any outfit. Never forget to accessorize either!
If I wanted to wear this dress at night to go out to dinner, I would pair it with white heels and a clutch.
