A little black dress is important to have in your wardrobe and should be a staple. Depending on where you are going you can dress it up or dress it down. This dress I am wearing is Helmut Lang that I bought when I was 8 1/2 months preggers and had two weddings to go to. I mean who wants to be wearing dresses at 8.5 months pregnant?!

The reason this dress fits now is because it has a stretchy material and i’m able to wear it post-baby. What makes this dress look different and unique are its cutouts.

I like to style my little black dress with a pair of shoes that have color. Since wearing black is so simple, you can wear shoes that are bright. My favorite colors to pair with black are crimson, fuchsia, or cobalt. I have linked similar dresses and shoes at different price ranges.

My 5 Fall Must Haves

Vest final

Fall is a transition period in which you can still get away with wearing some of your summer wardrobe pieces – but it’s how you style those pieces that is key. This amazing colorful vest that I am wearing is from this little store in the Berkshires that I got on MAJOR sale. The store didn’t have my size but I loved it so much that I bought it two sizes too big. Thankfully vests are supposed to be big!

Below I list my five favorite fall must haves that will make you on trend for the fall!

1) Vest with fur trim- When wearing the vest be sure that the vest is the only piece that is standing out. I styled my vest with black jeans, a white t-shirt, and booties. Of course if it’s cold you can wear a long sleeve top underneath.. Below are some of my favorites at the moment that range in different price points.

2) Faux fringe suede skirt- I went to Zara over the weekend and found a suede fringe skirt for under $40.00! I think that if you’re buying something that you won’t wear often and believe it’s just a fad, then try not to spend so much money on the piece. Styling tricks for the skirt include plain tops and simple shoes so that the fringe skirt is really the focal point. If you don’t feel comfortable in mini skirts you can get a fringe skirt that’s long. Below I linked some options both high end and low end and both lengths.

3) Flare Jean- This 70s style inspired denim is super flattering and can be worn by women of all ages. This look is almost impossible to mess up styling-wise. The hem is really important though- if your jean is too short it will look funny and unflattering, and if it’s too long you will trip! Make sure to get it hemmed correctly and bring the shoe you are planning on wearing to the tailor. The length should be almost skimming the floor.

If you want to stick to the 70s theme then you can wear boho tops and you can pair it with your fur trim vest. If you are going to wear this more at night then opt for the darker shade. Below please find my favorite. Since this isn’t so much a fad I think it’s ok to spend more money on this.

4) Denim dress- This trend has been around for a while now, but I have been seeing it everywhere and you can pair it with booties and tights when it gets really cold out! Here are some of my favorite denim dresses below:

5) Bootie- high heel and flat are both great to have and can be styled with pretty much everything in your wardrobe. The bootie is a must have for fall when transitioning your summer clothes into fall. If you pair a white dress with booties- you automatically look fresh for fall! Below are some of my favorite booties.

Fabulous Everyday Bag Options

Jenny-Berger--24

I have recently been getting a lot of questions about what favorite go to every day bags are. I think that an everyday bag needs to be big enough to fit everything you need for the day, so that you don’t have to carry a bunch of smaller bags.

When I have too many bags I end up leaving one behind. Having a big bag should be a staple in everyones wardrobe. If it’s big enough you can keep your flats and change into heels, you can cary your workout clothese in the tote and head from work to cocktails with the girls.. When you do have a big bag my advice is to include pouches of different things for your lipglosses, etc so that they don’t end up on the bottom where you cant find them.

Below see some of my favorite black big bags ranging in different price ranges that can take you from the office to the gym to cocktails.

Budget Friendly Nude Heels

I have never really been a fan of the kitten heel, but while I was pregnant I had two weddings to attend and I couldn’t wear high heels for many reasons- one being that I was in serious back pain! I also didn’t want to lose my balance and topple over! So I ventured on over to the kitten heel and bought the Valentino Rockstuds. I love them and can actually walk miles in them, and I know that when I wear these out I won’t be complaining about how my feet hurt! These will be traveling to Europe with us…

These shoes are a staple in my closet and I wear them with anything from dresses to boyfriend jeans to denim shorts.. As you can see this shoe is very versatile!

Below I linked similar options that are budget-friendly and don’t look old ladyish. To avoid buying a pair that looks “old lady” it’s best to buy a pair that is open in the middle, like the examples below that are budget friendly..

Hope to see you rocking your comfy kitten heels!

5 Favorite Everyday Dresses

dress shirt

In the picture above I am wearing a dress that isn’t available anymore, but I linked a similar dress with the same kind of casual/ comfortable vibe. The sandals are now on sale and the link is below!

1) The first look is a dress by Bella Dahl and is super cute and perfect for the daytime. It can be worn with a pair of pointy flats, a pair of espadrilles that I linked below or the Loeffler Randall sandals (on sale) that I am wearing in the picture.

2) In this second look I paired an Equipment dress with gladiator flat sandals and the Gucci disco bag in purple/pink to add a pop of color. This dress can also be paired with heels to dress it up. This is a fabulous dress because it’s so easy to wear and since we are approaching Fall, for those of you in cold climates it will look super cute with boots, tights and a leather jacket.

3) The third look is the perfect t-shirt dress from T by Alexander Wang. This dress can be dressed up or down depending on your mood and where you are off to. If you want to stand out more then don’t forget to accessorize with a long tassel necklace or bib. I paired this dress with silver Gladiator sandals and a tassel necklace. This dress can also be worn with tights and boots for the Fall coupled with a denim jacket or a blazer.

4) The fourth look is a striped A.L.C dress – you can never go wrong with a striped dress. Perfect for boating or for running errands. I paired this dress with Valentino white flat rockstuds and an Hermes bracelet. When it gets chilly throw on a denim jacket.

5) The fifth look is a 3/4 sleeve shift dress that’s very economical and can we worn from day to night.. During the day I would pair it with flats – I linked a pair of Sam Edelman scalloped flats that look just like the Chloe. At night you can pair it with some heels. This dress needs accessories so don’t forget to add the bib necklace, linked one of my favorites at the moment.

I used to never wear dresses, but I find that dresses are so easy to wear because you really don’t have to put a lot of thought into your outfit. Since I breastfed Jake for 6 months I couldn’t wear dresses so now I find myself wearing them all the time! You just need the right accessories, bag and shoes to complement the dress. Remember just because the climate is changing it doesn’t mean you can’t wear dresses anymore, just layer with tights, scarfs, leather jackets and, of course, boots!

Vacation Vibes/ Packing List

TravelWhile packing for the Berkshires I thought it would be great to write about key items to pack for a vacation, especially because labor day weekend is approaching. In a nutshell, I’m all about packing items that are versatile and don’t wrinkle. The goal is always to pack light.

On this trip I packed lightly because I share a suitcase with Jake. I have learned that over-packing is terrible because not only does it give me more work when I unpack upon my return home, but it also confuses me when I’m on the trip so less is better in this case.

Key Items to Pack-
1) Accessories- One pair of sunglasses, a necklace, fun rings, and an everyday bag. If you feel like you want more of a variety in your accessories you can sign up for Rocksbox using code miamistlemomxoxo to get one free month. Rocksbox members receive a highly curated box of designer jewelry with the option to borrow, buy or swap at any time. They feature 30+ amazing designers including Kendra Scott, House of Harlow, Gorjana, and Loren Hope. www.rocksbox.com.

2) Shoes- Leaving the heels at home since we will be in the mountains. Packing my tennis shoes for hikes, walking in the town and bbqing at night. I will also have my Valentino rockstud sandals and my Aquazzura espadrilles. Can’t forget my Birkenstocks since we will be up in the mountains. When packing your shoes they should be kept in shoe bags so that the rest of your clothes doesn’t get dirty.

3) Swimsuit- A bikini from La Perla I snagged on sale for 60% off

4) Hat- Taking along my Stella Mccartney X Addidas along with my Hat Attack hat to wear in the town during the day

5) Scarf- Alexander Wang – it’s light and the color goes with everything..
