Cool Statement Piece: The Ear Crawler

Ear crawlers have been all over celebrities and i’m finally on the band wagon since they do make a statement while looking effortless.  Ear crawlers start at the bottom of your ear and “crawl” up your lobe.  I used to love wearing big earrings, but in the last couple of years I have been wearing studs for a more subtle look.

Just to give you a little back story I was never able to wear studs because when I got my ears pierced at two months old the doctor pierced the holes too high up so studs have always looked strange on me.  Two years ago, I re-pierced my ears and am obsessed with studs.

My grandmother wanted to buy me a gift and I picked out these gorgeous Ear crawlers and I am in love- haven’t taken them off! I wear them every day – from working out to weddings… I love that they make a statement yet at the same time are also subtle because they’re so delicate.

I linked some of my favorite ear crawlers ranging in all different prices.  Which ones are your favorite?!

Have a lovely weekend!

Must Have Trend for 2016

IMG_1243

Off the shoulder tops are flattering for all body types and appropriate for all ages.. Everyone’s clavical is better off being shown then hidden (just make sure to stand straight)! What’s great about the off the shoulder top is that it adds glamour + sophistication, without showing off too much skin.  This trend is not new and it’s back again because it’s a good one!

When styling the off the shoulder top- if you are wearing a looser top make sure that your bottom is tighter like I did above, and on the contrary- if you are wearing a snug top then the bottom should be loose, like paired with a flaired skirt or wide legged pant.  These tops can go from the office to a date night.

Below are some of my favorite ways to style the off the shoulder top:

Paired with a bell bottom black pant- this is a dressed up version.

Paired with a black wide legged pant- this is a dressed up version and very glamorous.  Similar Top: Susana Monaco

Paired with a denim bottom- more bohemian look.

Paired with a denim high-waited bottom- more bohemian look. Similar Top:  Rebecca Minkoff

Paired with a loose short and sneaker- it still has a dressed up feel.

Paired with dark denim- perfect for a night in the town.

What caught my eye to this dress was the lace-up  details in the front.  It gives the good old regular pin-stripe dress an updated look with a 70s vibe while making it look more modern.. This dress is fab because it can be dressed up like shown ,with heels, or you can even wear it with Converse for a more relaxed look.  For a dressier look opt for flats.   This dress is fun and flirty and the stripes give it a nautical feel.

Living in Miami it’s the rare occasion to wear a leather jacket because it’s cold outside!  In this case I wasn’t really planning on wearing my leather jacket with the dress, but the weather was crazy and I had to! Just a side note- the nice thing about about having a leather jacket is it goes with everything!

The shoes of course add a pop of color which, if you follow my blog, you will know that I love a little pop of color!

The Easy Jumpsuit

1.14.16

When i’m in a rush and need to run out the door – especially now that Jake is becoming a serious handful to take care of (he’s starting to walk) – I find myself putting on a jumpsuit and running out.. It really is a no-brainer- and because it’s black I can add a pop of color with my accessories.. You can never go wrong with a jumpsuit and what I love about it so much is that it’s so comfortable.
1.14.16 bag

You can dress it up or dress down depending on the occasion.. During the day I wear it with a pair of flat gladiator sandals or a flat pointy shoe and at night I throw on a pair of sexy heels along with a clutch.  Jumpsuits also look good on all body types- whether you are tall or short. Give it a try and see below for some of my favs ranging in all prices:

Pops Of Red

Pop of Red

When I was in college I remember wearing a lot of color – perhaps it was the Texan in me – and then when I moved to NYC I caught the neutral bug.  Ever since then I tend to wear more muted neutral colors, so I leave it to my shoes and bags for color factor. Yes – even though I live in Miami, I still tend to dress like I live in NYC.  The only difference is that I wear shorts/sandals almost every day!

The color red is the epitome of sex appeal, and no matter what item of red you’re wearing you are bound to look sexy.. Red is also the perfect color for the holidays whether you celebrate Hannukah or Christmas. I can’t get enough of red for my accessories and I encourage you to try it out!  Remember: when styling, the hues of red in the bag and shoes don’t have to match exactly so long as you keep the rest of the outfit in neutral colors.

Below I linked some of my favorite red bags and shoes:
