It was a little hard for me to wrap my head around packing for this trip because we don’t wear fall clothes in Miami! I’m sharing exactly what I wore during our 10 day trip and I actually wore most of what I packed! A lot of these pieces were mixed and matched – never wearing the exact outfit again!!
I also knew I would have to pack things that were more for daytime, and that could easily transition into night, because I travelled to Paris and London with the kids. It was a family vacation so I kept it casual . A crossbody bag would have been more annoying with my kids ( I’m always having to carry some of their stuff) so I brought the Chanel 22 bag. The BEST travel & every day bag – I highly reccomend!
No heels this trip – Chase and I love to walk! I ended up wearing my sneakers once in London so probably could have just packed my boots!
Wondering what we did with the kids in Paris? Well we were there for three days – highlights: we went to the Musee D’orsay, Tuillerie Gardens, The Louvre (we had an excellent 1-hour tour guide) and ate at Lou Lou’s after! We ate at L’avenue twice (a great Bistro) and one of my favorite meals was L’Ami Jean – I wasn’t able to post any pics that night because my phone died! I’m not a huge meat eater and couldn’t stop eating their delicous stews. We def had to come home and order Jake room service as they didn’t serve a burger or chicken and fries or pasta.
We went to Bon Marche – the most amazing department store! Didn’t do much shopping as we were with the kids and hubby… but wow I could have made done serious damage if let to my own devices lol!
We took the train to London which by the way was seriously a schlep with 4 huge bags and two kids- but it was the easiest way and we made it! Jake for the first time had to help us with luggage- no one there helps you… great learning experience for our kiddos!
In London we visited with family so we didn’t do much sight seeing. We went to the Tower of London which Jake absolutely loved! Ate at Fisher’s in Marlyebone and then went to the cutest book store in Marylebone called Daunt Books. We ate at the Ivy and while my sis in law watched the kiddos, Chase and I went for the most delish Indian food at a place called Gymkhana- highly recommend! We went to Harvey Nichols which is fab department store. Didn’t make it to Harrods sadly! Honestly, the shopping in Paris surpasses the shopping in London – the exchange rate helps too!
I would say London is great with kids and Paris is just ok – there was an instance where Chloe had to go to the bathroom while we were walking to one of the museums so I went into a restaurant and asked if she could use the toilet and they flat out said no! In that instance I missed the ease of being home!
A suit is something that will never go out of style. I love that you can wear the jacket and the pant together or wear it separately. You can make so many different outfits just out of two pieces!
The ways to style this Veronica Beard suit are endless. I decided to style it for more of a party night out so I opted not to wear a top under the jacket to make it look a little “sexier”. Wear a bodysuit underneath if you are going for a more conservative vibe. I also love the look of a suit with a pointy heel – so chic!
The detailing of the suit is just beautiful and unique an. There is a sparkling trim on the front of the blazer. The pant has the same trim that goes all the way down. The sparkle trim makes it perfect for the holiday season! The bottoms are high waist – my absolute favorite.
I am wearing a size 2 in the pants and a size 4 in the jacket.
Hello October! It’s that time of year when we are being invited to galas, holiday parties and weddings! When I was looking for a dress, I knew I wanted something that was fun and bright and I think this dress is so perfect for any of those occasions! I love the ruffle details on this dress- so flattering and, of course, the beautful pattern. The colors are so vibrant- yet not overdone. This dress is the total package- it’s one of those pieces you can wear and feel super comfortable.
I love it paired with my light pink sunglasses for a day event – the color of the glasses really complement the dress!
I decided to pair this dress with my white Bottega Veneta heels which I think go perfectly! You could also wear them with gold sandals if you want something more fancy.
The gold clutch really goes well here too. I decided to keep the jewerly minimal because there is already so much going on!
The kiddos are back in school so wanted to share this post I have been thinking about writting – just haven’t had the chance! I wanted to share how I style this pencil skirt two ways. I get asked a lot about workwear and thought it would be fun to show this as an example. It’s also super cute for a luncheon, date night or a girls dinner!
The first way I styled the ruffle skirt is with a button down top and a pair of pop of color heel and my Chanel 19 bag. This look is more fashion forward with the colored heel- you could also style it with a simple suede pump or you could wear more of a bedazzeled low heel pump. Since Fall is approaching for most of you, a pump would be ideal. I also find that a pump makes the look polished and elongates your legs!
The second way I styled the skirt is with a padded tank, cardigan over the shoulder, and lace up flats for a more casual vibe. You could also style this look with a pair of plain white sneakers. or these. I think workwear has changed so much in the past two years that honestly you can totally wear sneakers to an office and look appropriate. Speaking of sneakers, if you go into a Zimmermann store all of the sales associates are wearing their cute dresses white sneakers.
Now lets quickly talk about the white button down. There is something to be said about wearing a button down- I just love the way it automatically makes you look so polished and put together. When I travel I love wearing either this long button down that I tuck into high waist jeans or this cropped one styled with a pair of jeans and converse and I get asked why I am so dressed up for a 7 am flight! LOL- it’s such an easy travel look! The Dior tote helpes it look put together too!
Which look do you prefer for a workday: heels or flats?
I wanted to do a post on matching sets because I love them so much and I have more than a few on rotate. You can either be matchy matchy or switch them up and wear as separates. I got this top before I got the shorts and would wear the top with jean shorts/jeans. But I eventually had to get the shorts, as I just can’t get enough of matching sets. Why can’t I get enough you may ask- it’s because you just look so put together in a casual, cool, relevant way. This exact set is especially comfortable because of the drawstring shorts!
Linked a bunch of matching sets here I’m loving! If you are in a colder climate or want to wear this kind of outfit in the early fall, just layer on a leather, denim jacket, sweater, or a blazer!
Hope you guys had a great holiday weekend! I wanted to do a round-up of my outfits from the weekend + on the blog. I was recently asked how to shop all my looks so i’m going to do my best to upload looks here as well + you can also always go to my LTK and shop looks there! I also try to save everything that I link under highlights on Instagram.
