November Sweater Edit!

Hi!

I was asked to do a sweater edit on the blog- so here we go! Also, the person requested a lot of cashmere options so they wouldn’t be itchy- because we all know how uncomfortable that can be!

Just a little styling tip- when you wear these sweaters they look best if you tuck them in if they are on the longer side:)

Jacket Edit!

Hi!

Growing up in Dallas, Halloween always was the start of cold weather. I just spoke to my parents and it’s freezing in Dallas now, so it only seems appropriate to start talking about jackets. My sister lives in Madison, WI and she said there were snowflakes over the weekend! We are actually supposed to be going to Madison for Thanksgiving but, depending on the Covid 19 situation, we aren’t sure that we are going – which makes me so sad. I really want to see my sister, brother-in-law and nieces. Especially after finishing Virgin River over the weekend. The main character and her sister have such a nice relationship and it was such a great show! There were nights I was staying up until midnight to watch – which I rarely do. So I highly recommend!

Ok onto the jacket edit – I wanted to show all different types from the cropped puffer jacket, faux fur/ shearling to wool. Hoping I can take mine (similar one) for a spin during Thanksgiving- if we end up going to Madison!

Endless Summer Closet Staples

When I think of Miami, I immediately think bright patterns, colors, flowers, accessories!! I was asked to post about key pieces besides denim shorts and tees that I suggest wearing all year round in Miami. The only time I really bring a leather or denim jacket / blazer is when I go to dinner because it tends to get cold in restaurants.

I LOVE floral dresses – there is something so cute and feminine about floral prints and you can wear them with leopard/glitter sneakers to funk it up a bit or flat sandals and a tote for daytime. Also, animal print is cool as well as timeless. Speaking of totes – my favorite tote are the Goyard GM and the Chanel Deauville. These totes are perfect for Miami – during the day or to the pool/beach. For night time just throw on a pair of heels and a clutch! I’m currently loving my Bottega clutch that I got right before the pandemic.

I also love a good white dress! I don’t believe in the rule that you can’t wear white after labor day. You can make it fun by wearing a pop of color bag/ shoes. A black basic dress is a staple as well.

Puff sleeves are such a nice statement and you can wear with denim shorts all year round! Don’t forget a pair of fun sunglasses– you will def need them in this climate. Don’t forget your jewelry – it’s my favorite part of my outfit! I love how unique it can make your outfit.

Refreshed from the weekend!

Hi! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! We spent most of the weekend at home, which was really nice. We watched three movies because I was on an Instagram detox (my husband made me delete the app for the weekend!) I actually feel really refreshed and it was much needed – it can be a lot of pressure sometimes with likes, etc! I don’t know why I put the pressure on myself, but I think deleting the app once in awhile is important.

So since I didn’t have my phone to scroll, I was able to concentrate and watch movies! Yes, I said movies…plural. PS I don’t remember the last time I watched ONE movie. I actually loved two of the three we saw- 1) Loved Murder Mystery with Jennifer Aniston and Ben Stiller and 2) Falling Inn Love – both available on Netflix. Both were really great and mindless .. I totally recommend. Jake liked the Falling Inn Love but thought Murder Mystery was scary!

Onto the outfit! I loved this top so much because you can wear it with denim shorts and sneakers; jeans and heels to go out; and just throw on a blazer to dress it up! I wanted to also show you how you can wear it with a leather skirt and dress it down with Birkenstocks.
